COUNCIL OFFERS NEW MATERIALS FOR FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY

Financial Services Industry Project:

The Council believes that people who work in the financial services industry see numerous people experiencing problems with their own or their loves ones gambling and are in a unique position to offer assistance. Project Content Leader, Lauren Gadkowski, a Certified Financial Planner with an office in Boston, wrote an article about how financial planners can help their clients by being aware of problem gambling and the resources available. Lauren succeeded in getting the article published in both the National Association of Financial Planners Newsletter and the Massachusetts Association of Financial Planners Newsletter. Lauren also helped the Council develop specialized materials for planners and attended industry events to distribute the information. This spring, Lauren is hosting several free workshops about problem gambling at her Boston office. A training will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14th at 60 State Street, 38th floor, Boston. The Council has recently developed a 5-question screening tool and wallet cards for people in the financial services industry to use with their clients.
