The Brief Addiction Science Information Source (BASIS)

 

On the 10th anniversary of the Worldwide Addiction Gambling Education Report (The WAGER ), a joint project of the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling and Harvard Medical School, Division on Addictions at the Cambridge Health Alliance, the WAGER is now part of BASIS.

 

BASIS offers two new weekly science reviews.  The Drinking Report for Addiction Medicine ( DRAM ) and Addiction Smoking Health Education Service ( ASHES ) address issues related to alcohol and tobacco use and abuse respectively.  To compliment the three science-focused publications, a humanities review called Addiction and the Humanities discusses literature, art, music and contemporary culture as these relate to addiction.  BASIS Online can be accessed at www.basisonline.org .
