  • Secured legislation requiring posting of notices on all state gambling sites with Council helpline number
  • Advocated for treatment for problem gambling that resulted in a progression of treatment availability in Massachusetts from 1 site in 1987, to 3 sites in 1995, to 10 sites in 2009
  • Developed evidence-based practice guidelines for clinicians treating compulsive gambling
  • Formed the Massachusetts Partnership for Responsible Gambling
  • Hosted three Listening Sessions in 2008: Problem Gambling Treatment Practioners: Exploring a Continuum of Treatment Services, Problem Gambling in Massachusetts: Cross Systems and Workforce Development, and the Future of Problem Gambling Prevention.
  • In September 2009, the Council, together with the Massachusetts Partnership for Responsible Gambling hosted industry representatives, legislators, and other stateholders for A Listening Session on Responsible Gambling, which was held at Suffolk Downs. Download presentations.
